Deep Lake Water Cooling uses 90% less electricity than conventional cooling
Toronto, ON – Enwave Energy Corporation, one of the largest providers of district energy in North America, today announced that it will provide the highly anticipated Trump International Hotel & Tower, currently under development in Toronto, with clean, reliable, sustainable, low cost air conditioning to keep its residents and guests cool with Enwave’s innovative Deep Lake Water Cooling system.
Enwave sources power from the icy cold water found deep within Lake Ontario. The lake water runs through the City’s filtration system to Enwave’s facilities where the energy is extracted from the icy water. It is this energy that is used to cool the buildings.

The 750,000 square foot, 70 floor tower boasting luxurious living and hospitality will help reduce harmful emissions by 3,224 tons which is the equivalent to taking more than 645 cars off the road, and will help decrease electricity usage by 2,931,000KWh which is comparable to electricity used by more than 290 homes.

Enwave launched its Deep Lake Water Cooling initiative in August 2004. There are currently 12 buildings receiving Deep Lake Water Cooling, and 34 additional buildings to be connected by 2009.

Trump International Hotel & Tower, Toronto, is a joint venture between Donald J. Trump and Talon International Development Inc.
