Here’s a quick scan of what to expect with prices these days. We’ve pretty much reached the $500 PSF point and my understanding is that prices will keep rising up gradually throughout 2008. That said, if you are looking to buy and “taking time to save more” this would not work for you, as market appreciation is faster then you can save after taxes.
Conclusion: it’s better to buy what you can afford now, and be realistic about it.
